Card Sniper Guides

Vintage cards (condition is the whole game)

Vintage can be a long-term collection builder — but only if you price condition honestly and avoid weak-photo traps.

Why “cheap vintage” isn’t always cheap

In vintage, condition changes value dramatically. A listing that looks under market can be perfectly priced once you account for corners, centring, surface, and authenticity risk — especially when the photos are weak.

The vintage filter

  1. Condition visibility: if you can’t see corners/surface clearly, you can’t price it accurately.
  2. Liquidity: iconic issues move; obscure items can trap you.
  3. Landed cost: shipping + risk should widen your safety margin.
  4. Buy now vs wait: strong listings near comps rarely require urgency.
  5. Hold vs flip: vintage is often a long-term hold — bid like it.

Weak listings that can be worth your attention

Use Card Sniper to stay disciplined

Use the Sniper Board to surface vintage targets, then save only high-conviction candidates to a dedicated watchlist. If the photos are too weak or the risk is too high, hit Not Interested and keep your feed clean.
